I got to sleep in this morning. The boys brought me cinammon rolls in bed, along with a card the size of a calendar that played a really crazy song. My sweet Alex woke up, pulled out his markers and crayons and some paper, and made me a birthday banner. When Andy woke up and went into the living room, he found Alex hard at work. It really melted my heart that he did that on his own. He told me that he wanted to make me something since he hadn't bought me something. My family is such an amazing blessing to me.

Today Caleb got to dress up like Spiderman at school. It was a special event for the book fair. The boys were talking in the car on the way to school. Caleb wanted to make sure he was a good superhero. He asked Alex if the red Spiderman was the good one or the black Spiderman. Alex quickly responded, 'No Caleb. You don't call him the black spiderman. He's the African-American Spiderman.' Too funny!
Kristy suprised me with breakfast at school this morning for my birthday, along with a flower arrangement she made herself. Kelly brought me lunch from Salsarita's. I feel so blessed by these friends God has put in my life. They really made my day so special.

The Best Thing I Heard All Day
Alex: Do you want me to tell you about my girlfriend?
Me: Of course. If you want to.
A: Well, I used to have three, but now I just have one.
M: Who were the three?
A: Sarah, Kayla, and Rachel, but now it's just Sarah.
M: Does Sarah know she's your girlfriend?
A: No way. It's better that way. Sometimes if they find out, they aren't too happy about it.
Dear God, thank you for these wonderful tidbits that make such wonderful memories. I love that kid!

Back to school for all three of us today. We're all on antibiotics, but so far we're hanging in there. Andy arrived in Florida where it is almost 50 degrees warmer. Oh, to be down there with him. How nice. The boys are having too much fun at my parents' house - so much that they aren't wanting to go to sleep. To them, this is like a vacation.

Today was very busy, getting everyone packed up for the week. Andy leaves for Orlando tomorrow and won't be back until Saturday. We're leaving as well, and staying with my parents while he's gone. They live right around the corner from school, so that gives us an extra half hour each morning. Yippee! The boys are excited, and it makes me not dread Andy leaving as much. The later it gets, the sadder I get, but I'm praying the week goes by super fast.

Another wonderful family day! Andy was off, which is a Saturday miracle. He stayed home since he leaves for Florida on Monday. I love not having to set the alarm in the morning. On a sad note, I just got word that Chad Williams passed away last night from his battle with pancreatic cancer. I can't imagine what Pat, Laura, and the kids are going through. He was only a few years older than me. I just pray such special peace for them that only God can provide.

As luck would have it, Alex woke up with a sore throat, so both boys are home from school and on antibiotics. Thankfully, they both feel pretty good and have been having fun with yet another day off of school. I have felt so blessed by having all of this extra time with them during the day. It's been relaxing and refreshing. Proof again that God knows what we need and when we need it better than we do.
